How to Do CPR
How to do CPR is not that easy difficult but still it requires mastery. Though it is perceived as a simple first aid application, it will be best if you perform it well for efficiency and good result. Doing CPR for adults, children and for infants has a slight difference, but overall it is the same steps and techniques. When you give CPR to infants you need to be extra careful because of their size (not pressing as hard with compressions and giving less volume of air with breaths. They can be very sensitive and their condition may become worse if you don’t do it well.
The thing you must check in CPR is if the person is showing any signs of life (breathing, opening eyes, movement, etc). If you think they are showing no signs, of life, call 911 right away and give them 30 hard and fast compressions in the center of the chest. If you are going to give breaths, give mouth to mouth with a barrier device if possible. Open the persons air passages like his or her mouth using the head tilt chin life method. Give two 1 second breaths and then right back to 30 compressions. You would fully master and understand this first aid treatment through referring to www.cpr.myeweb.net
AED:
The aed or defibrillator is very easy to use. Keep doing cpr and turn on the AED. Look at the pad placement and place the electrode pads on the bare chest. When needed, the unit will tell you to press shock or keep doing cpr. Listen to the aed like it is your coach. Many now even have a screen that has text and pictures.
CPR and AED use together can help save 60-70& of lives compared to 5-10% only with cpr alone.
The Help of CPR and AED Training Is Saving People’s Lives
Several studies show that the foremost causes of death among adults are the unexpected cardiac arrest (SCA). This is the reason why having the skill on CPR and AED is beneficial in avoiding sudden death. Knowing how you could perform CPR and at the same time having knowledge in how to utilize the AED ( automatic external defibrillator) will enable a person like you to be functional or useful when someone suffers breathing difficulty or emergency and cardiac arrest.
If you have undergone in training, you will surely act properly in times of emergency. Everywhere you go, what you have learned will always be with you and will just be activated when there is a need for you to perform the beneficial results of your training. For example, when you happened to go to a pool beach or even in a resort, persons who may have drowned may be saved with your help. If you were at a picnic or out for dinner and someone choked, you could apply the Heimlich maneuver and get something stuck out of their throat, thus preventing death as well.
What to Do For Choking
What are you going to do if someone is choking? If there is foreign object that is trap on an adult, infant or child’s throat, what will you do? If there is blockage in your throat, the worst things that can happen is the inability or difficulty in breathing and the blockage of the flow of air.
For you to save an infant from choking you will need to give him or her five blows in his/her back. The first things that you should do are to give five (5) blows at his/her back in between his/her shoulder blades using your hand’s heel. After that, give the person five (5) chest thrusts like in cpr. Then, perform an alternate blows and thrust which is five each. You will need to do this until you already dislodge the blockage. To perform the Heimlich on children and adults, you put your hands around their waist and make a fist between the belly button and below the sternum and push up and in very hard over and over until the object comes out. If the person passes out, you call 911 and start cpr.
